planbooktravel.com.au inducted into the Top 10 Best Of The Best Travel Websites for 2008 in the Sunday Heralds ‘Escape’ travel guide.

The Best Of The Best list recognises the best travel or tourism site based on the quality of travel content, destination guides, user-friendly navigator tools and the ability to book from various travel carriers and operators.

planbooktravel.com.au was no stranger to recognition from the travel media in 2008, claiming ‘Travel Website of the Month’ in October’s Sunday Herald. In September Queensland’s Courier Mail discussed how planbooktravel is changing the way Australian destinations use the internet to attract travellers.

planbooktravel was positioned at No.6 for its “super interactive features and down-to-earth info on many Aussie destinations”. This year's Best of the Best Travel Websites also recognised companies including News.com.au (No.1 for its excellent coverage for travellers), lonelyplanet.com.au (No.3 for its destination information), and Google Maps (No.8 for its printable interactive maps and business information).

planbooktravel.com.au Director, Jeremy Baird said he was pleased with the travel websites reward for giving the control back to the consumer to better plan, research and review holiday destinations in Australia. “It’s fantastic to be recognised again by a leading Australian travel feature.” said Mr Baird.

“planbooktravel has always focused on encouraging traveller reviews on over 10,000 Australian destinations to go alongside trusted tourism literature. With a fully interactive atlas and booking features we wanted to make the whole process as easy and reliable as possible”.

The 2008 Best Of The Best Travel Websites appeared in the December 14th edition of The Sunday Heralds ‘Escape’ feature.
