Finlandia, Brown-Forman's premium Finnish Vodka brings world-class stand-up comedy to a cool Chandigarh night. On Friday night the popular stand-up comedian had the audience in splits with his witty humor; including the front row guests whom he targeted frequently with his incisive wit.
The pulsating evening saw host Mr. Amrit Kiran Singh, Area Director & VP, Brown-Forman Worldwide, Mr. Pannu and Mr. G.S. Lehal, of The Golf Club, Mr. Sachin Vinayak, Head, HSBC, Chandigarh, Mr. Amanbeer Singh, of Hot Millions chain of restaurants, besides Mr. Sandeep Gulati, Mr. Manav Aggarwal, Mr. Nitin Mehta, Mr. Amarjeet Singh along with spouses, laughing and enjoying Papa CJ’s pokey, ready wit among a guest profile of 200 of Chandigarh’s swish set.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Amrit Kiran Singh, Area Director & VP, Brown-Forman Worldwide shared “It was a pleasure for Finlandia to host this evening. Looking at the tremendous sporting response from audiences across the country I feel we are now geared up for these world class comedy shows and more importantly, we have the ability to laugh at ourselves now, which is a good habit.”
On seeing the packed house with an enthusiastic and appreciative audience at Chandigarh Golf Club, Papa CJ applauded Finlandia’s initiative to propel stand-up comedy in India, “Finlandia is a brand with courage and maturity to consistently sponsor stand-up comedy in India during the current conditions.”
Papa CJ is a first generation Indian comedian who was chosen as one of the top 10 acts in the world on NBC’s hit TV show Last Comic Standing in 2008, defeating 3,000 contestants from over 20 countries. Papa CJ started his comedy career in London and had performed to considerable critical acclaim at the Mecca of comedy. Papa CJ won the You Must Be Joking competition at the Newbury Comedy Festival. He quickly became a successful regular at the Gong Show at the Comedy Store, and in 2005 was a finalist in the Laughing Horse new act competition. He has performed in North America, Africa, Europe and Asia. Aside from his comedic capabilities, Papa CJ has a well-grounded business background as well. An MBA from the University of Oxford, he has worked as a management consultant in London for 5 years.
