“Quick” is the Keyword for Selling Used Cars
(NewDesignWorld Press Release Center) -- Despite the onslaught of negative news about the auto industry, online used car specialist Sell Car UK has noticed an upward spike in people requesting fast used car sales. From both customer requests and website hits, “quick” seems to be the keyword with consumers. This could be in response to reports that used cars are selling at their highest prices for months.
Although there is constant depressing news and statistics about the car manufacturing industry, the used car market appears to be experiencing an unexpected upward spike. According to trade news site www.am-online.com, used car sales are “unprecedented” for this time of year. This could be the result of panic “stock dumping” from dealers at the end of last year – and the current need to redress the balance by purchasing more vehicles for garage forecourts.
One specialist car dealer, Sell Car UK, has noticed this trend with a recent influx of sale requests.
For example, Audi A3 owner Jonathan Southgate came to Sell Car UK in an effort to sell his vehicle for a fair price as quickly as possible. “I don’t know enough about cars or the motor trade and haven’t the patience to get the car fit for sale myself,” said Southgate. “I just wanted a quick sale.”
It's a familiar story to Sell Car UK managing director, Mark Rogers. However, he suggests that all this extra activity may just be a temporary blip. “These are unprecedented times,” said Rogers. “The sudden lack of stock on the market, combined with people's reluctance to purchase new cars is pushing up used values.”
“We think that customers are reading about this upturn and are trying, understandably, to sell when the market is favourable.”
“However,” Rogers continued, “we don't expect this trend to continue. In fact, we've been advising our customers – and anyone who will listen – that if they're thinking about selling, then now is the best time. I predict that the current mini-boom is only going to last until the end of April at best. After that, we could see the longer downward trend kick in for the foreseeable future.”
