The economy is a key issue facing small business owners in 2009. Faced with the recession, small businesses will have great concerns about cash flow, cost containment, customer retention and survival. What this will mean for many is working harder, longer hours, more networking and greater stress. Ellen Goldman or EnerG Coaching, LLC will present to the Morris County Chapter of NJAWBO (New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners), on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 12PM, at the Hanover Marriott, Rt. 10, East Hanover, NJ, How to Maximize Your Energy to Get the Most Out of Your Working Day, and Still Have Energy to Play!
NJAWBO is the largest statewide women business owners' organization in the United States. Its primary objective is to support and encourage business ownership by women. Since 1978, NJAWBO has helped women achieve their business visions by providing them with the tools to develop and grow their enterprises. Educational seminars, such as the one mentioned above, are open to all NJAWBO members regardless of their chapter affiliation, and non-members as well.
With the increase in unemployment and traditional job opportunities decreasing, more individuals will consider self-employment. As in past recessions, we are already seeing an increase in start-up small businesses. When one spouse owns his/her own business, and the other is downsized from corporate America, the pressure to increase the bottom-line of the small business becomes even greater. What this means is more individuals will be faced with balancing work hours, family and home responsibilities, leaving precious little time to take care of one’s own health and well-being.
“It is imperative that employees, regardless of whether they are in business for themselves or another, have the tools to work at peak efficiency and maintain a high level of energy throughout the work day. If not, many will face burn out, frustration, poor health and possibly depression. There are so many small, simple shifts in lifestyle that will lead to greater focus, stamina and satisfaction at work. It is my hope to share these tips with the business women of NJAWBO.” says Ellen Goldman, Founder and Owner of EnerG Coaching, LLC.
Effective behavioral interventions have never been needed more to address today’s epidemics of obesity, sedentary lifestyle, stress related illnesses, and burnout. Certified Wellcoaches, such as Ellen Goldman, have been trained to apply behavioral science-based coaching methodologies to help people change their health and wellness habits. The emerging field of wellness coaching is slowly making its way into the working world, as employers realize a healthy employee is a more productive employee. Wellness coaches are personal life coaches who have a professional background in health and fitness. They are helping people through one-on-one coaching programs, group coaching programs, workshops and seminars such as the one being offered through NJAWBO.
