Nokia Adds Flash Section to Calling All Innovators Contest In 2009
New York, US, April 15, 2009 – To give those mobile application developers who are working on Flash technology a chance to compete in Calling all Innovators (http://www.callingallinnovators.com) contest Nokia has added Flash category to this contest in 2009.
To have a qualified entry in this category, contestants will need to submit their applications for S60 or Series 40 Nokia devices, using either a Symbian Signed .SIS format (for S60 devices) or .NFL format (for Series 40 devices).
All types of applications that incorporate Flash Lite from Adobe are considered, but those that have broad appeal and that make the most of Nokia’s platform capabilities are most likely to catch the interest of the judges. Flash applications that make the most of touch-based input methods should be top-of-mind.
Some examples of the types of applications that the judges will be looking for include:
1. Communications – Flash applications to enhance mobile messaging, instant messaging, e-mail, and communities.
2. Entertainment - Flash applications that are more than simply distractions, including games, video, music services, or social networking.
3. Life Balance - Flash applications for health advice/guidance, health monitoring using sensors, route-planning (such as for exercise routines), "brain" games for mental exercise.
4. Personal Information Management - Flash applications that integrate contacts and/or calendar functionality of the device. Using the capabilities of the Nokia Flash Lite Platform Services.
5. Social Responsibility - Flash applications that aid environmental and ethical decision making, such as a "quiz" based on scenarios (right or wrong choices).
Those contestants whose applications do not fit one of the specific areas above can select the option for "Other" when they submit their applications.
