New Release of TurboCAD v16
TurboCAD Training Courses and OnlineTutorials … and a new version 16 of TurboCAD Pro
Avanquest Solutions is the sole UK distributor for IMSI’s TurboCAD – a 2D and 3D CAD package for design professionals - architects, mechanical engineers and conceptual designers – which offers an extensive combination of tools, often only associated with more expensive, high support-dependant CAD solutions.
Avanquest does not just sell TurboCAD. Their in-house CAD expert, Paul the CAD, runs training courses, free online tutorials and an interactive TurboCAD blog for all TurboCAD users.
TurboCAD supports a total of 27 CAD and graphic file formats and read/writes AutoCAD and Google SketchUp.
Version 16 of TurboCAD Pro has just been released. New features that will help designers most are:
2D - Bisector Tool. This tool draws a line from the intersection of two straight lines bisecting the angle where these lines meet and the action can be repeated. If the lines do not meet the bisecting line starts where they ‘would’ meet.
3D - Extrude to Face. Extrudes the face of one object to the plane of another, for example make two boxes or cylinders the same height. At the same time it ‘groups’ the objects, meaning that to repeat the operation you need to Split the objects.
Quick Pull - An extension of the Facet Offset Tool. Here you select the facet to extrude and simply pull it in or out, either by eye or by typing the length of the extrude in the inspector bar. It automatically changes the workplane to the chosen facet.

Helix - Handy if you’re designing a mattress!
