Jun 02, 2009 Neha Nagpal:
Health Sanctuary, the premiere weight management and skincare clinic chain, is planning to open 50 new franchise centres across the country by 2010-end. This is in addition to its already existing seven centres in and around the Delhi-NCR region.

Speaking to Inside Franchising, R H Choudhry, Director, Health Sanctuary, said, “We expect to have a tally of 12 centres in the next 6-8 months. The company seeks franchisee partners who are likeminded, competent and can support the company with long-term commitment.”

Meanwhile, the company has recently put another jewel in its crown by opening a Med Spa centre in New Delhi. Moreover, it envisions opening atleast one exclusive Med Spa across cities pan-India.

To join hands with the Health Sanctuary family, one requires an investment of Rs 20–35 lakh which includes franchisee fee (Rs 5-7 lakh for a period of 5 years), equipment cost (Rs 6–12 lakh per centre), furniture and fixtures (Rs 9-16 lakh, depending on the size of centres). Further, the franchisee ought to have a space of around 1,700-2,500 sq ft to be used as a store.

In return, Health Sanctuary will help the franchisees in site selection, project management, staff recruitment and training, centre launch, marketing and quality control. The franchisees will also have the right to use the Health Sanctuary brand name and its products.

The franchise model of the company is totally based on royalty. “We charge a royalty fee based on the total monthly billing. It is a recurring payment made by the franchisee to Health Sanctuary on a monthly basis. The royalty fees will be 5 per cent of sales during the 1st year, 7 per cent of sales during the 2nd year and 10 per cent of sales from 3rd year onwards up to five years,” Choudhry added.

“The franchisee will start earning about 40 to 100 per cent returns on investment in the third month itself and can breakeven within the first year,” Choudhry claimed
