Goldie backs campaign to promote social care jobs

(NewDesignWorld Press Release Center) -- DJ and actor Goldie has become the star of a new campaign aimed at encouraging job-seekers to look into a career as a social worker.
The star, who has appeared in the James Bond film the World is Not Enough, in addition to a number of more recent reality TV shows, has lent his weight to the initiative as he himself benefited from the care of social workers when he was growing up.
Indeed, Goldie spent most of his young life in the care of social workers and as such was only too happy to agree to take on the role of a young single parent to help in the new Help Give Them a Voice campaign being rolled out by the government's Department of Children, Schools and Families.
"I wouldn't be where I am now without a lot of the help from social workers because I was this really frustrated young child who didn't have anyone to communicate with," he told the BBC.
Other celebrities who have agreed to help with the £58 million campaign include Oscar-winning actress Samantha Morton, as well as Michelle Ryan and Sadie Frost.
Unison recently reported that around 39 per cent of social worker jobs are currently vacant across the UK.
