Fed Up With TV? Try Alljoinon.com a New Social Networking Site Launched in the UK
Park Row, Bristol, March 17, 2009 -- The focus is on making new friends, rather than keeping in touch with existing friends or dating. Members can chat in the online bar or café, play agony aunt on the problem pages and find like minded people with the same interests and in the same situation.
Entrepreneur Carolyn Morris created the website when she became frustrated at being at home with a back injury. She said: “I got fed up with daytime television. All my friends and family were at work, so I had no one to talk to. I knew there must be lots of people in the same situation, but there was no way for us to meet each other.”
Already AllJoinOn.com has a real community feel. We interviewed some of the members to find out what they liked about AllJoinOn.com. Katie, 42, a housewife from Bath, "I would recommend anyone to this 'down to earth', friendly site. It is like one big community on here, I have made some really good friends already."
Sarah, 24, Scotland, "It is great to be able to log on when I like and chat to a friendly group of people in the online bar."
Mark, 36, web designer from London, “for me, who understands web technology and follows the trends, this site has something different in that, yes we are all looking at a bunch of text on a screen, but I know that I'm dealing with REAL people behind the text, this is what a social network should be, not just having loads of 'friends' that you've never met or talked to, am I wrong?”
Founder Carolyn Morris said “In these recessionary times consumers have the biggest social need for a community website.”
“It is great for replacing office banter and an amazing resource, ask a question and someone at home knows the answer.”
