CompTIA Introduces EU Cost-to-Serve Benchmark
(NewDesignWorld Press Release Center) -- London, – CompTIA, the leading trade association for the world’s information technology (IT) industry, today announced the availability of a new business benchmarking tool intended to help technology services companies in the European Union (EU) improve performance and profitability.
The Cost-to-Serve Benchmark measures some 50 key performance indicators technology service providers can use to gain insight into how optimised their service operation is compared to others in the industry. The performance indicators were identified as the most important measures for technology services companies by a group of 25 experienced service executives.
The availability of reliable external data on customer needs and how to deliver to them has been very limited, according to Dan Liutikas, senior vice president, industry relations, CompTIA.
“This benchmark is designed as an annual exercise to provide long-term insight into developing trends in the IT services industry in Europe,” Liutikas said. “By offering comprehensive insights into both historical and current performance results we are empowering IT services companies to identify strategic shifts in the marketplace, steer a path out of recession and return to growth and profitability.”
The benchmark was developed in cooperation with Noventum, a leading management consulting firm that specializes in strategic service management. To encourage participation in the Cost-to-Serve Benchmark, the program is offered at cost to CompTIA members with CompTIA and Noventum helping to partially fund the initiative.
Specific benefits of the Cost-to-Serve Benchmark include:
• Visibility of true costs and capacity to allow manageable growth
• An external reference point for your own operation
• Insight into how service operations are creating low cost high value operations with reduced volumes
• Insight into market trends
The EU Cost-to-Serve Benchmark is one of the latest initiatives of the CompTIA EU IT Services and Support Executive Forum. The group includes IT service industry executives from technology resellers, service providers, distributors, parts providers and logistic companies. They collaborate on developing industry standards and to address topics such as including service performance benchmarking, establishing best practices and solving other industry issues.
