(NewDesignWorld Press Release Center) -- Baltimore, MD, Monday, October 20, 2008 - Akron OH native launches an online magazine celebrating the culture, traditions, and wisdom of the African American Family. This extraordinary online magazine captures the life style, family traditions, and practices that keep families strong. The publication “African American Family Connection” is a content focused magazine designed to be a resource for communication, access to information, and a place to present various perspectives on timely topics concerning the state of the African American community.

The conditions in the Black community, regarding poverty, unemployment and single parent homes must be addressed by the members of the Black community. According to U.S. Census data African American households are larger than the average household of the total population. The average size of each African American household is 3.2 people compared to the U.S. average of 2.6 people. It further states that 41% of African American children live in a home maintained by their mother, as head of household, while 34% live in a two-parent household and 13% reside with a grand parent.

The Creative Director, Linda Slack is a mother of three, a grandmother to two beautiful and intelligent black children, a community organizer, and mentor-mom to many. Feature articles focus on providing achievable solutions to the social and economic conditions collectively affecting black families today.

The wide-ranging focus of AAFC provides a collaborative internet presence to engage, educate, and empower Black families in order to transform the negative propaganda about the Back community into positive commentary. The tone of and style of communication is home-spun Kitchen Table Wisdom covering a variety of topics including cultural perspectives locally, nationally, and globally.
The time is now and the place is every African American home for the future of our children.

African American Family Connection is a new online magazine featuring articles with home-spun Kitchen Table Wisdom. The purpose is to engage the community through family connection for the empowering families to improve conditions in the community. AAFC magazine is content focused to create an internet presence to engage in dialog with the African American community one family at a time.
