Effect of positive mind on your carrer
I often say that negative thoughts just bring you bad stuff and more, many more, negative thoughts.
This way you are likely to get trapped in a vicious circle.
At some point, you need to break this downward spiral and transform it into a positive flow of pleasant thoughts and, above all, nice things!
Sometimes though, it may seem so hard that you prefer sinking in your pain...burning that in your rage...surrendering to "this cruel world" and accepting your victim role...
REACT! You definitely CAN change your thoughts.
Personally, I find visualizations very helpful, and here are a few of my favorite ones for when it gets tough.
Feel free to use them when and as you like, and to adapt them to your personal situation and issues.
* Big Waves - I like this one in case of painful thoughts, especially painful memories. Imagine you are standing in front of a beautiful Caribbean sea... on a wonderful beach of fine, white sand. The overall sun shines in a much clear, and blue sky. A pleasant breeze lightly touches your skin... But you are not enjoying that. Something very heavy inside your chest doesn't allow you to breathe. Black, disgusting, sticky dust in your head makes your thoughts blurry and makes you feel dizzy... You cannot really stand it anymore. You want to stop suffering and enjoy the wonderful place you are in! You ask that boundless, calm, blue sea for help.... All at once, a HUGE, MIGHTY wave, like nothing you have never seen, rises from the sea... and in a moment it's so close to you! It's over you...You are scared! SPLASH! You realize that not only it didn't kill you or hurt you, you even feel much better: lighter, stronger... SPLASH! Another huge wave. SPLASH! Waves keep arriving fast...and after each wave you feel better and better... All the heavy burdens, all the black filthy dust have been completely washed away. You can now enjoy the gorgeous, white Caribbean beach, the warmth of the sun, the refreshing breeze. You breathe deeply...
* The Jungle - I use this for instance when I feel fed up and exhausted about a weary, annoying situation, that seems to have no end; something you cannot get rid of. You are really walking through the jungle... You are dirty, thirsty, angry and completely lost... Suddenly, out of the vivid green, thick, wild vegetation...a BIG, BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL appears in front of you. The water looks so pure, transparent, inviting... You PLUNGE into the waterfall. The water is pelting down on you on you at full speed, and you can feel all its might. While it washes away all the dirt, all the tiredness, all the anger, all the thirst...you feel renewed. When you decide to come out from that fall, a path clearly appears through the tangled jungle. At the end of the path, a white, reassuring light.
* Dawn - I find this one good to clear away fears and worries about the future. It's before dawn. You feel a bit cold and are wondering where you are. It's still quite dark and you cannot see very well around, but you realize you are up on a hill. You don't feel like walking, as you are afraid you could fall down the hill. You are anxious and don't know what to expect. Though, you pluck up courage to say with strong, inviting voice: "Dawn, please come, I'm looking forward to seeing the sun today!" all of a sudden, a pink, dim light further rises from nowhere...it gradually turns into a pale white...and then into a BIG, WARM, GLOWING, YELLOW SUN. All around, the daylight reveals bright green grass, some magnificent trees, delicate flowers, nice singing birds... The sun is so big, and it is right in front of you, as you stand up on the hill. You should open your arms in a wide. Special, brighter sunbeams reach you...and suddenly you are all wrapped up in warm, soothing, yellow light, like a magic shield. You further feel stronger than the ever. Nothing for it could hurt real now.
