York Beach, Maine - PhotoVoltUS, Inc., a leader in photovoltaic (PV) products and technology, today announced that they received the contract to install aGrid Tied Photovoltaic System as part of the new Peru Maine Elementary School Building Project. PhotoVoltUS, Inc. will be making innovative use of available space by installing a 5000 kW, photovoltaic solar system on the rooftop of the school. This installation will reduce energy demands on the local utility by providing peak electric power to the grid year-round. "We're excited to be helping out. This system is a positive, sensible way for everyone in the community to get involved, learn about solar energy, and at the same time reduce energy costs," says, CEO, Don Bristow-Carrico. Additionally, a kiosk will be erected which will display its power. This will serve as an invaluable resource for public solar energy education.PhotoVoltUS will be working closely with DeBlois Electric of Lewiston Maine to integrate the PV system into the local grid. "This will also improve air quality by preventing tons of CO2, and other polluting emissions, from being released over the life of the system; 115 tons of CO2 over 25 years if fossil fuels were used," notes Don Bristow-Carrico. The solar system installation will consist of SharpUSA PV Modules with a Fronius Inverter connected to the utility grid. PhotoVoltUS,Inc., is a leader in photovoltaic products and technologies. They provide small to complex solar installations to both the public and government sectors. They also contribute time, energy, and resources to educate the public about benefits of solar energy.
