Denmark: European Workplace Drug Testing Symposium starts 19th May 2009

(NewDesignWorld Press Release Center) -- One of this year's top Drug Testing Symposiums is taking place in Copenhagen, 19th-21st May
The Sixth European Workplace Drug Testing Society's annual event presents it strongest programme yet with contributions from experts around the world, including the US, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, Italy, France and Spain. The conference is one of the very few in the world in this field that crosses the boundaries between scientific and practical application, making it a target event to attend for both employers and scientists. Concateno has experienced scientific and educational staff who have been invited to participate by chairing and speaking during the programme. For more details about the programme, visit the Symposium website.
The European Workplace Drug Testing Society (EWDTS) is a forum for discussion. When drug testing is being considered or used within a workplace, many people need to understand the process: employees and their representatives; Human Resources; Occupational Health; Risk Assessors; Compliance Officers; Lawyers (for the company and for the employees); Drug Counseling and Treatment Providers.
Sessions in the upcoming Symposium cover both the practical discussion of models of implementation:
“Implementing Drug Policy - Approaches in Arriva Denmark, Sweden and UK” by Mr. J.E. Christiansen, Human Resource Development Director, Arriva Scandinavia, DK.

through to the extension of scientific knowledge:

“Ethyl glucuronide in urine and hair: A specific marker of alcohol consumption” Prof. Dr. Bertin Dufaux, Germany.
Concateno, through its accredited Canary Wharf and Cardiff laboratories, uniquely provides clients alcohol (and drug) detection in both sample types to the international quality benchmark ISO 17025 standards, and conducts the most drug and alcohol tests in urine, hair and oral fluids samples in Europe. This reference database is invaluable for our clients management of drug and alcohol concerns.

Concateno’s Dr Claire George and Lindsay Hadfield will be chairing sessions, and Lindsay will also be presenting a session on “Alcohol Testing: Practical Applications”.

Workplace Drug Testing involves three linked stages - collecting the specimen, analysing the specimen and interpreting the results of the analysis. Meet our team at the EWDTS event or contact us to find out why Concateno has the most comprehensive range of services and customer support available to ensure every client can have a drug and alcohol programme that is tailor made to their requirements.
