Protouch and YESpay give retailer’s a total payment solution


August 2009 - Protouch, no.1 EPoS kiosk supplier has partnered with YESpay, the leading provider of card payment processing services, to deliver a total solution to retailers who want to offer self service card payments.

With customers’ expectations for fast and convenient service soaring, retailers are under pressure to deliver solutions that keep up with demand. As a result, according to Retail Banking Research, the number of self service checkouts is set to quadruple over the next five years. Retailers need an easy route to deploy this technology and Protouch and YESpay think they’ve hit upon the answer.

Protouch and YESpay have partnered to deliver a total solution to supermarkets, train stations, cinemas, etc that want to offer self service chip and pin credit and debit card payments. With their payment and processing kiosk, customers can receive a fast and convenient service which retailers deliver at minimal cost and effort to them, while reaping in the benefits of reduced staff costs and increased customer spend.

How does it work? The solution combines Protouch’s chip and pin transaction kiosk with YESpay’s powerful EMBOSS payment service which is fully pre-accredited with multiple Card Acquirers within UK and Republic of Ireland and is end-to-end PCI DSS Level 1 approved. This ensures merchants can fastrack their deployment of integrated payment kiosks in a matter of weeks without formal bank or PCi testing. Cardholders simply follow on screen prompts to process their card payments with the knowledge that their transaction is securely authorised and settled with the merchant’s card acquirer. The combined systems deliver high-speed transaction authorisation (3-5 seconds) and at the end of the day merchants can access and download up to the minute real-time reports on transactions.
