Gordon College to host world-renowned author, Katherine Paterson, in April 2009
(NewDesignWorld Press Release Center) -- March 9th, 2009, Wenham, Massachusetts, USA — Gordon College announces Katherine Paterson will give a lecture on campus at the A. J. Gordon Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The lecture will be preceded by a “Meet The Author” reception between 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Ken Olsen Science Center on campus.
Katherine Paterson will lecture as part of the Community Read series and this event will be co-sponsored by the Hamilton-Wenham Library and Gordon College. Paterson is the award-winning author of such books as Bridge to Terabithia and Jacob Have I Loved. She belongs to the United States Board of Books for Young People and currently serves on the board of the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance. She has twice won the Newbery Medal for the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children in a given year. Paterson is one of only five authors to win the Newbery Medal multiple times since the award’s inception in 1922. She is among this country’s most loved Christian authors.
