Announcing the Launch of CompareTutors.com

(NewDesignWorld Press Release Center) -- February 16, 2009 – CompareTutors, Inc. is pleased to announce the wide release of CompareTutors.com, the first comprehensive tutoring and test preparation provider directory on the web! Almost 8 years after the passage of the landmark No Child Left Behind Act and with billions of public dollars spent [1], American students continue to lag far behind their international peers [2]; fully one third of US teens will never graduate from high school [3]; and it is more competitive than ever to get into a top US college [4]. These realities have compelled parents to seek tutoring and test preparation services in record numbers and millions start their search online.

Until the release of CompareTutors.com the tutor search experience on the web was haphazard, time-consuming, and often fruitless. There are many small, regionally-focused individual tutor matching sites which provide very few or no matches to most parents. There are provider sites which can only be found if searchers are already aware of the brand. And for the lucky few who do find a tutor online, they are still saddled with the burden of vetting credentials, quality and price. Tutoring is still a completely unregulated industry in the United States [5]. Basically anyone can hang out a shingle and offer tutoring services regardless of qualification, certification or the lack thereof - so parents must choose wisely.

CompareTutors.com addresses all these concerns by bringing together industry-leading tutoring and test preparation providers. These national and regional brands are well respected companies that employ former teachers and certified tutors to ensure students achieve their academic goals – leaving both parent and child satisfied. From learning centers to test preparation providers to online tutors –parents will find them all at CompareTutors.com.

“We built CompareTutors.com to fill a clear gap in the online marketplace,” remarked Constance Pecci, co-founder of CompareTutors.com. “There are over 60 million public school students in the United States today and the Department of Education has stated that over 35% of those students utilize some form of tutoring and test preparation services each year [6]. While there are literally thousands of individuals and companies offering the services, there was no comprehensive website where parents could comparison shop all these companies from one convenient location – until now.”

Visitors to CompareTutors.com can compare providers by reviewing tutor directory listings at the Tutor Research Center or they can utilize the Tutor Search Wizard. The Tutor Search Wizard was developed exclusively by CompareTutors.com and allows site visitors to quickly enter their tutoring needs and preferences and automatically get matched to providers that match that exact criteria – including budget considerations. They can then reach out directly to those provides or choose to have the providers follow-up with them via phone, email, or other preferred communications method.

CompareTutors.com is also filled with great content and downloadable materials to assist parents in understanding the best style of tutoring for their child. Every child learns differently and parents should be mindful to match their child’s learning style with the various styles of tutoring instruction available. In future releases of the website, parents can look forward to provider reviews and rating; the opportunity to have their child take a learning styles inventory; and the ability to get matched with tutors based on that learning style.

About CompareTutors, Inc.
CompareTutors, Inc. was founded by Constance Pecci after a fruitless and frustrating personal search for a math tutor in the fall of 2008. Having exhausted the usual tactic of friend and family referrals and coming up empty, she took her search online. That experience proved no better and ended in the same result – lots of time wasted and not one suitable tutor identified. CompareTutors.com intends to change that. The website is specifically designed for busy parents and provides one-stop tutor shopping with results they can rely on. CompareTutors, Inc. is an angel-funded company located in Tewksbury, MA.
