Our new research report, “Opportunities in Malaysian Tourism Industry (2007-2009)”, says that international tourists arriving in Malaysia are expected to increase their expenditure at a CAGR of 6.63% during 2008-2012.
Malaysia is an excellent place for both international and local shoppers as it offers a wide range of products at competitive prices, says the report. Moreover, Malaysia has massive shopping malls and hypermarkets, ethnic stores, duty-free shops and exclusive boutiques that can help it becoming the most preferred shopping destination in the region. According to a survey conducted by Shopping Malaysia Secretariat, a division of Tourism Malaysia, in 2006, Malaysia was ranked as one of the top shopping destinations in the region after Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai and Tokyo.
The biggest attraction of the year for international shoppers is the Malaysian Mega Sale Carnival, an event organized by the Malaysian Tourism Ministry, Tourism Malaysia and the Shopping Malaysia Secretariat. The event – that lasts for one month and held twice a year - showcases promotions, bargains and discounts of up to 70% on a broad range of products, services and brands at shopping malls and complexes around the country.
The increase in flow of tourists to Malaysia in the past few years is because of aggressive marketing and promotional campaigns by the Tourism Malaysia. One such campaign “Visit Malaysia Year 2007” was launched last year to attract domestic as well as overseas tourists. Such promotional activities are expected to escalate the number of tourists to over 20 Million by the end of 2008.
According to our report, it was estimated that around 23.4% of tourist receipts in 2006 came from shopping, and Singapore, Thailand, Brunei and Indonesia are main tourists target for Malaysia from shopping perspective.
“Opportunities in Malaysian Tourism Industry (2007-2009)” provides exhaustive information on the present and future prospects of the Malaysian tourism industry. It thoroughly studies different parameters of the industry, such as inbound & outbound tourism, expenditure, inbound & outbound tourists, accommodation & transportation facilities and medical tourism.
The report also provides forecast on tourist arrivals, tourist arrivals by country, outbound tourism expenditure, outbound tourists and tourism receipts. It helps clients to identify opportunities and factors critical for the success of the industry.http://www.rncos.com/ |

The total tourist arrivals to the country are forecasted to reach around 5 Million by 2010.
As per the research report, increase in the number of tourists over the past years has mainly been driven by aggressive marketing campaigns by the government of Vietnam along with Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), aimed at promoting the country’s tourism industry. Besides this, in order to minimize the impact of recession and attract more foreign visitors to the country, Vietnam is going to organize a “Sea Festival”, which will be held in Paris, in the last week of April 2009.

Patients Flocking Turkey for Low Cost Medical Treatment
|
|
|
According to our new research report titled “Emerging Medical Tourism in Turkey”, the medical tourism market is forecasted to grow at a CAGR of over 50% between 2009 and 2013 on the back of low cost of treatment and improved healthcare infrastructure.
Turkey is gaining the reputation of providing excellent medical and healthcare services in many fields, including cosmetic and plastic surgery, cardiac procedures, vision, orthopedics, dentistry and many more.
A Senior Research Analyst at RNCOS says that one of the major driving forces for the Turkish medical tourism industry is the country’s improved healthcare infrastructure. Turkey is continuously improving its healthcare infrastructure as various hospitals are being developed by the government. In fact, the country has the highest number of Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospitals in the world, making it one of the most promising medical tourism markets worldwide.
Low cost of treatment is also driving the medical tourism industry in Turkey. Medical costs for procedures and surgeries in Turkey offer international medical travelers’ huge savings that generally amount to as much as 50%-75% of costs for the same surgeries and procedures in the US and other developed countries of Europe. To further boost the number of medical tourists in the country, Turkish Airlines have recently announced 25% discount on listed fares for a medical patient and companion in possession of a note from a doctor or an acceptance letter to a Turkish medical facility.
