RNCOS has recently added a new Market Research Report titled, "Wind Power: Opportunities in Emerging Markets" to its report gallery. Power is the backbone of any economy in today’s world. But the high price of fossil fuel is forcing countries to focus on renewable energy sources. So the technologically-developed countries have replaced a considerable portion of their fossil fuel power with renewable sources to sustain their concrete growth. But, according to "Wind Power: Opportunities in Emerging Markets", emerging countries, who have just started their journeys, too need to maintain a robust power supply because
- Most of the emerging economies are preferred destinations for industrial and manufacturing plant set up by developed countries.
- Development of power grid connectivity has boosted up the power consumption.
- Increasing population has fuelled the power requirement in developing economies.
However, rising fossil fuel prices are challenging the growth potential of these countries. Therefore, like developed countries, these nations too are adding renewable sources in their power mix.
For most of the emerging countries, wind power seems to be the best choice as it is relatively low cost than other renewable sources and is a cleaner source of energy. With technological development, wind will become a highly competitive source for power generation, creating business opportunities for manufacturing and material innovations. This, in turn, will boost the manufacturing sector of the emerging countries.
To analyze the market potential for wind industry in the emerging economies, we have selected countries based on various aspects, like market performance and power generation sources. This report also provides a brief description on key turbine manufacturing companies present in the emerging economies.
Key Findings of the Report
- Total wind power installation in People’s Republic of China is projected to cross 100 GW by the end of 2020.
- Wind power industry will be the major focus area in India during its 11th Five Year Plan.
- By the end of 2009, wind power installation in Turkey is anticipated to reach slightly less than 1 GW.
- In 2009, Brazil’s cumulative wind power installation is likely to exceed 1 GW mark.
- It is expected that the wind power generation in Poland will go beyond 26 TWH by the end of 2020.
- Egypt’s wind power installation is projected to cross 1 GW mark in 2009.
Key Issues and Facts Analyzed in the Report
- Analysis of the power industry at country level to find out the prospects of industry growth.
- Identification of factors that are infusing growth in wind industry at country level.
- Evaluation of growth trends of wind power installation.
- Quantifying the future growth of wind power installation in each country.

Indian Credit Card Spending to Grow at 19%
|
|
|
According to our new research report, “Indian Payment Card Market Forecast to 2012”, payments through credit cards at point of sales (POS) terminals is projected to surge at a CAGR of about 19% in the next few years. The projected growth rate is significantly low compared to the previous growth of more than 30%, which has largely been hit by the current financial crisis affecting the Indian economy.
In past few years, credit card market has shown remarkable developments. Banks had issued more than 27 Million credit cards at the end of FY 2008, but the number has dropped in current fiscal as the current liquidity crunch has made banks more cautious on their move regarding credit card issuance. “Banks are reviewing their credit card limits in wake of the economic slowdown and credit crunch to reduce the possible risk of defaults to its existing and potential new customers. It doesn’t mean that banks will stop issuing new cards”, says a Senior Research Analyst at RNCOS.
Our report has done thorough analysis of the possible consequences of downturn on the Indian credit card market. “One should understand the fact that the credit card spending is not going to halt, but the growth will slowdown and consumers will be more cautious on their spending” says the Analyst. Consumers are still using credit cards for payment transactions. Credit card payment transactions stood at over Rs 228 Billion at the end of FY 2008. In first eight months of the FY 2009, the spending grew by more than 23% compared to the same period last fiscal, and we see double digit growth in this spending during forecasted period.
“Indian Payment Card Market Forecast to 2012” provides extensive research and rationale analysis on the payment card market in India. Having adjusted to the current market situation, the report reveals that the number of credit card issuance is projected to grow at a CAGR of nearly 15% in the forecasted period. Various factors responsible for this future growth and possible deterioration have been thoroughly covered in the research.

RNCOS Releases a New Report- Turkey Telecom Sector Forecast to 2012
|
|
|
RNCOS has recently added a new Market Research Report titled, “Turkey Telecom Sector Forecast to 2012” to its report gallery. Largely driven by the government initiatives aimed at the liberalization and privatization of the sector to introduce competition, the Turkish telecom sector has shown tremendous growth in past few years. Coupled with this, the favorable demographics of the country, together with rising disposable income and a desire to avail hi-tech telecom services are propelling the domestic telecom market.
Turkey has low fixed-line, Internet and broadband penetrations, offering huge potential for their future development. The fixed-line sector remains underdeveloped, and various factors such as high tariffs and absence of fixed-line networks, have been hindering its growth, says our new research report, “Turkey Telecom Sector Forecast to 2012”.
Mobile services, on the other hand, penetrated nearly 83% of the Turkish population in 2007 and are projected to surpass 100% in next few years. As the mobile market will approach saturation during the forecasted period, operators will resort to offering Value Added Services (VAS) to drive their revenues. The recent announcement by the government to allow Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is further expected to lead to true competition in the sector.
Because competition in the telecom sector is intensifying, operators are now looking for new sources of revenue generation to sustain and gain their market share. This is prompting them to introduce such new technologies as 3G, IPTV and WiMAX in the country. Hence, operators in the region are aggressively pushing the deployment of network infrastructure suitable for these technologies.
“Turkey Telecom Sector Forecast to 2012” provides extensive research and in-depth analysis of the Turkish telecom market. It gives an insight into the current market trends and substantiate the data with unbiased and rationale analysis.
The report provides 4-year industry forecast (2009-2012) on various telecom segments based on feasible telecom industry environment in Turkey. These include:
- Fixed-line subscribers and penetration
- Mobile subscribers and penetration
- Internet subscribers and penetration
- Broadband subscribers and penetration
- Personal computers and penetration
The report also provides thorough analysis on the current and potential outlook of various emerging technologies, such as 3G, IPTV and WiMAX.
Key players discussed in this report include:
- Türk Telekomünikasyon A.ª. (Türk Telekom)
- Turkcell
- Vodafone
- Avea
- TTNet
- Superonline
