1. Online marketing also referred to as web marketing, online marketing, or emarketing, is the marketin
Internet Marketing also called as Online Marketing is relatively inexpensive when compared to the ratio of cost against the reach of the target audience. Companies can reach a wide audience for a small fraction of traditional advertising budgets. The nature of the medium allows consumers to research and purchase products and services at their own convenience. Therefore, businesses have the advantage of appealing to consumers in a medium that can bring results quickly. The strategy and overall effectiveness of marketing campaigns depend on business goals and cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.
Online marketers also have the advantage of measuring statistics easily and inexpensively. Nearly all aspects of an Internet marketing campaign can be traced, measured, and tested. The advertisers can use a variety of methods: pay per impression, pay per click, pay per play, or pay per action. Therefore, marketers can determine which messages or offerings are more appealing to the audience. The results of campaigns can be measured and tracked immediately because online marketing initiatives usually require users to click on an advertisement, visit a website, and perform a targeted action. Such measurement cannot be achieved through billboard advertising, where an individual will at best be interested, then decide to obtain more information at a later time.
Internet marketing as of 2007 is growing faster than other types of media. Because exposure, response, and overall efficiency of Internet media are easier to track than traditional off-line media—through the use of web analytics for instance—Internet marketing can offer a greater sense of accountability for advertisers. Marketers and their clients are becoming aware of the need to measure the collaborative effects of marketing (i.e., how the Internet affects in-store sales) rather than siloing each advertising medium. The effects of multichannel marketing can be difficult to determine, but are an important part of ascertaining the value of media campaigns.
Online advertising is a form of promotion that uses the Internet and World Wide Web for the expressed purpose of delivering marketing messages to attract customers. Examples of online advertising include contextual ads on search engine results pages, banner ads, Rich Media Ads, Social network advertising, online classified advertising, advertising networks and e-mail marketing, including e-mail spam.

One major benefit of online advertising is the immediate publishing of information and content that is not limited by geography or time. To that end, the emerging area of interactive advertising presents fresh challenges for advertisers who have hitherto adopted an interruptive strategy.

3. 3PL to Transform Logistic Industry in India
The increasing preference for 3PL services will transform the way logistic operations have been carried out in India till now, says RNCOS in its new research report, “3rd Party Logistics Market in India”. At present, the 3PL market is at a nascent stage of development, with multinational companies in all industries being the predominant users of these services. However, the domestic major companies in leading industrial sectors have also begun to follow the footsteps of their multinational counterparts, starting with outsourcing their basic logistics functions. The total revenue generated by 3PL players surpassed US$ 1.5 Billion in 2008 from mere US$ 890 Million in 2005.

As per the findings of our research, the present market scenario of 3PL services in India can’t be compared with that of developed markets like the US and Europe where the usage of 3PL services is more than 50% in most of the industries. But the Indian market offers immense growth opportunity as compared to developed markets due to improving infrastructure like highways, ports, bridges and increasing connectivity along with rising importance of logistic services.

We have identified the auto and IT hardware industry as the largest end-user industry for 3PL services. Other sectors that have shown substantial contribution to 3PL market and significant growth potential include FMCG, pharmaceutical and retail sectors. The market will generate revenue of close to US$ 4 Billion by 2012 and will result in more effective ways of implementing logistic operations in India.

While the share of 3PL services in India is far lesser than developed markets, when it comes to share of logistic cost as percentage of GDP, it is high in India and China ranging between 13% and 15% due to lack of infrastructure facilities and less focus on creating value through efficient handling of logistic services.

Our latest research report, “3rd Party Logistics Market in India”, gives comprehensive information about the current and past situation of 3PL services in India. The segment wise market potential of 3PL services is also provided in the report to help client to analyze the penetration level of new modern logistic services in various industries. The report also highlights the factors responsible for the increasing attractiveness of Indian 3PL market along with brief overview of the key players in the industry.

5. China Seeing Telecom Restructuring, Operators to Upgrade Networks
With a wave of restructuring in May 2008, the Chinese telecom industry is flooded with the news of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&As) among the existing telecom players. As part of the move, China Telecom has acquired the CDMA line of China Unicom, and China Unicom has been merged with China Netcom. Another incumbent operator, China Mobile, has acquired China Railcom.

“The idea behind this revamp is to allow each operator offer full telecom services, which otherwise had been dominated by broadly four players, two in fixed-line and two in Mobile. Now the three players will compete in the market with equal service base”, says a telecom analyst at RNCOS.

The three operators, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom, have been planning to inject billions of dollars in expansion of their networks in the world’s biggest telecom market, says our new research “Restructuring and 3G - New Dimensions for China Telecom Sector”. Much of the investment will be required for convergence and upgradation of existing network, making it possible to offer fixed-line and mobile telephony services via existing infrastructure.

Recently, China Unicom has revealed that it would require some US$14.6 Billion over the next two years to fund the deployment of wireless infrastructure. Also, China Telecom is aggressively implementing its strategies to develop the newly acquired CDMA infrastructure. Further, 3G remains the focal of domestic telecom industry. Various industry players have already injected huge amounts in 3G infrastructure developments, and many more projects are ready to be launched.

However, opportunities are not limited to the network upgradation and extension only. The burgeoning Chinese telecom industry offers tremendous potential for various industry players, such as communication equipment vendors, IT service providers and 3G application developers.

Keeping in mind the true potential of this industry, “Restructuring and 3G - New Dimensions for China Telecom Sector” provides extensive research and rational analysis on the current developments in the Chinese telecom industry. It gives thorough analysis of the current market restructuring and its projected impact on the market.

This report helps clients to have an insight into the domestic telecom market along with status of emerging technologies and future scenario, including subscriber growth, handset sales, market share, market penetration, opportunities and market roadblocks.
