RNCOS Releases a New Report- Nuclear Energy - A New Hope for India
|
|
|
RNCOS has recently added a new Market Research Report titled, “Nuclear Energy - A New Hope for India” to its report gallery. According to "Nuclear Energy -A New Hope for India", a new research report by RNCOS, the Indian nuclear power industry is set to boom post Indo-US nuclear deal.
High demand and low production pushed the power deficit in India to around 10% of the total requirement in the FY 2008. And this deficit is expected to widen further in future as India’s power requirement is growing faster than generation. This can put breaks on the seamless economic growth of the country. So the government, as a precautionary measure, is focusing on the nuclear power industry. The major reason for shifting to nuclear power is its potential to generate more power than any other energy source in a short period of time and with low fuel requirement.
In FY 2008, total nuclear power installation capacity in the country reached just over 4 GWe, and once India starts getting international cooperation, its installed capacity and plant construction will take off in a big way.
This report gives extensive analysis on the Indian nuclear power industry. It evaluates the growth prospects and market potential, underlines the issues related to the success of the industry, and provides a prudent analysis on its various aspects. It presents a comprehensive overview of the past and current performance of the industry and identifies the future direction of the market.
Industry Projections
- Nuclear power plant installation capacity till FY 2018.
- Numbers of reactors that are planned to start operation in future.
- Evaluating the investment requirements for plant construction.
- Uranium requirements in Million Pound.
- Power generation in TWH.
Players Profiling
This section covers information on domestic companies that are playing an active role in the nuclear power industry. The companies discussed in the report are Larsen & Toubro Limited, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Walchandnagar Industries Ltd, Hindustan Construction Co. Changeover Times for China - Urbanization to keep Aluminium Demand Strong
|
|
|
Aluminium demand in China has risen very strongly in recent years on the back of rapid economic growth, growing urbanization, improving domestic infrastructure and industrialization, ensuring that China will remain the world’s biggest consumer of the light metal, says our new research report “China Aluminium Market Analysis”. The Chinese aluminium industry is anticipated to grow by 12.5% during 2008-2018, while the global aluminium industry will grow by 7% only during the same period.
According to the report, rapid urbanization in China during 1990-2006 played a key role in raising the demand for aluminium. In fact, it was one of the most remarkable transformations witnessed by the Chinese society. In 2003, China had eleven cities with total population of more than four million, 22 with two to four million residents and 141 with one to two million people, which meant a total of 174 cities with population of at least one million. Moreover, at the end of 2006, China’s total population climbed to 1.3 Billion of which 737 Million (56%) people were residing in rural areas and 577 Million (44%) in urban areas.
Thus, investment in building cities to provide homes to fast expanding urban populace and infrastructure has been the major factor pushing this stupendous growth in metal demand in China.
However, the Chinese aluminium industry is largely fragmented with a large number of small- and medium-sized companies, but the number of players plunged by over 40% in the last four years (2003-2007), says our report. Thus, industry consolidation is an opportunity for big players to achieve the economies of scale in the Chinese aluminium industry.
“China Aluminium Market Analysis” is a comprehensive report containing rational analysis and statistical data on the past and current market trends. It discusses the impact of Chinese aluminium industry on the global aluminium industry and identifies evolving markets and growth prospects.
The report comprehensively studies the market to evaluate its future direction. However, the forecast provided in the report is meant to give a rough guide to the future direction of the industry and does not follow a complex economic model.

The culprits of rising western apparel prices
|
|
|
The last decade of lower prices in textiles was mostly due to the large quantity of exports on the international market, coming mostly from developing economies. Exports from countries such as China and India were mainly responsible keeping the prices of textiles low. From the late 1990s till 2007, China doubled its market share in terms of clothing imported by the US to more than 16 percent. However, as commodity prices are on the rise all over the world, the era of cheaper apparel prices may have come to an end.
Energy prices, the price of crude oil and stable foods have increased at an unprecedented rate over the last year. To the dismay of many people around the world, this is no sign that this trend will subside in the near future. Along with other commodity prices, the price of clothing has increased dramatically as well—especially that of women's clothing. According to Ezinearticles.com, increases of 20-30 percent should be expected in clothing prices in some parts of the world. Consumers in the West, who are accustomed to having a wide range of cheaper imported clothing—either made or assembled abroad—are in for an unwelcomed shock. This is especially true in the United States, where the dollar has fallen substantially against most other currencies. The depreciating dollar will result in more expensive imports and therefore even more daunting retail prices for American consumers.
If US consumers take a look at fine print on their clothing tags, chances are they will rarely see a tag that says "Made in the USA." Most clothing in the US and Europe is imported from abroad—where cost of labor, raw materials and production is much cheaper. However, inflation and increases in wages have led to increases in the cost of production in large exporting countries such as China and India. According to Emergingtexttiles.com, the inflation rate in China was 4.80 percent in 2007 and is expected to reach to 5.50 percent in 2008. The inflation rate in Vietnam, another large textile exporter, reached 23 percent in June 2008. Overall, the Asian Development Bank’s official for Asian inflation is 5.1 percent for 2008. However, Rajat M. Nag, managing director general at ADB predicts that it will be higher. With rising prices all over Asia, production and labor costs will continue to increase in developing countries. As we speak many people in Asia, who work in the textile industry, are feeling the pinch on their margins. In the west, the same effect will be amplified as textiles make their way down to the retail chain.
The rise in textile prices is partially due to the fact that rising food prices have such huge impact on wage-earners in developing countries. In certain countries, food accounts for 40 percent to 70 percent of the monthly spending of citizens. Thus any price hike in food in these types of countries, especially in that of staple foods, will have a significant impact—not only on expendable income, but also quality of life. For instance, food prices in Vietnam rose 22 percent in May 2008 alone and as much as 50 percent in other Asian countries this year. Wages are starting to increase to counteract the inflation and are thus contributing to higher production costs. In certain situations where they have not, workers in the textile and other industries have joined forces to try to force companies to absorb at least a portion of the price hike. Nike is one such company who was faced with large-scale strikes. In the end, they were forced to raise wages by as much as 10 percent in some of their factories. Higher cost of labor means higher retail prices.
The staggering price of crude oil is also accountable for the increasing apparel prices in the West. Higher transportation and shipping costs, of both finished goods and raw materials, will be dearly felt by the consumer at the other end of the price tag. However, textiles such as clothing and bed sheets are a necessary commodity; consumers will not stop buying these goods because they are more expensive. It will be interesting to see how higher textile prices will effect consumption patterns. Will consumers opt for cheaper goods or choose to sacrifice quantity for quality?
