A new study from RNCOS, “Booming UAE Telecom Sector”, has found UAE as one of the highest Internet-connected countries of the Middle East region. The country has now more than half of its population connected to the Internet and broadband services. Moreover, the expansion of Internet is quite uniform in the country as almost all facets of the society - individuals, schools, businesses and the government – use Internet widely.
Broadband subscription in the Middle East country is growing far faster than dial-up. In 2007, broadband represented around 42% of Internet subscriptions, while it was just over 24% in 2005. Increase in Internet subscriptions is attributed to the rising consumer need to get Internet connectivity with the consistently lowering of Internet subscription rates. This has raised the current Internet penetration figures in the UAE to 2.5 users per subscription, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA).
To further foster the Internet penetration in the country, the federal government is encouraging the development of ‘smart cities’, another regional trend. As a result, Internet penetration in the UAE is projected to continue with its rapid growth in future as well. RNCOS research expects the volume of Internet subscribers to grow at a CAGR of approx 25% during 2008-2012. Broadband subscribers are projected to account for approx 65% of the Internet subscribers by 2012 end.
“Booming UAE Telecom Sector”, apart from broadband, offers extensive research on other telecom segments also, such as fixed-line and mobile. It thoroughly analyzes the UAE telecommunication market, taking into consideration various factors that remain requisite for ensuring intended growth in the market. The report further evaluates the potential of various emerging telecom technologies, like 3G, WiMAX, Mobile TV and IPTV in the UAE.
As the telecom market remains duopoly of Etisalat and du, the report, keeping in mind the importance of these two players in the UAE telecom market, also offers rational analysis on both these operators. This includes in-depth research and extensive analysis on their business activities, recent developments and SWOT analysis in regard to the UAE telecom industry.

MNP, 3G Rolling Out Bright Prospects for Turkey Mobile Market
|
|
|
A recent announcement by the Turkish government to allow the mobile operators to offer Mobile Number Portability (MNP) following the launch of 3G by the end of 2008 will drive the Turkish mobile market.
According to our recently released research report, “Turkey Telecom Sector Forecast to 2012”, mobile subscribers in Turkey reached approx 62 Million in 2007, growing at a CAGR of more than 19% from 2005. This equated to a mobile penetration rate of nearly 83% during the period. “Various factors, such as lack of fixed-line infrastructure, affordable prices and availability of prepaid services, which enable customers to spend as per their requirement, are the main stimuli for the mobile market”, says an analyst at RNCOS.
The proposed allowance of MNP by the Turkish Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has made the future prospects of the Turkish mobile market very optimistic. This will foster true competition in the market which is the largely dominated by Turkcell (one of the three players besides Vodafone (Telsim) and Avea (a subsidiary of Turk Telecom)).
Further growth in Turkey’s mobile market is likely to be stated by the speed with which the country will see the commercial rollout of 3G mobile services, which is not expected to hit ground before 2009. The RNCOS research anticipates that some 4% to 5% of all mobile subscribers in Turkey will have access to 3G services by 2012.
“Turkey Telecom Sector Forecast to 2012” discusses the telecommunication market in Turkey comprehensively and gives information on the past, present and future scenario of the market. The research is not confined to market performance; it also evaluates the factors making Turkey an attractive destination for ICT investment. Various segments that are studied as part of telecommunication market include fixed-line, mobile, Internet and broadband.
The report gives an analytical study on the factors that are pushing growth into the market, like privatization and favorable demographics. It tracks the market developments and analyzes the opportunities in various segments to map out the future direction of the market.

Industrial Computers Having Tougher Motherboards
|
|
|
Computers are in very much demand today. There’s always a need of computing whether manufacturing or office sector. In this arena, Embedded Systems, Industrial Monitors have taken the lead. These computers are best suitable for many automated manufacturing process such as application like stock control and dispatch however their needs are quite a different one.
There’s a lot different environment to run the Industrial PC’s. Industrial PC’s having Industrial motherboards fulfills the needs of an office computer but they need condition like nicely air-conditioned suites, free from dust, water to be more reliable. With varying needs Industrial PC’s used in food manufacture may have to be waterproof and intrinsically sealed to prevent explosions in potentially explosive and dusty atmospheres whilst also being made of stainless steel or other easy to clean material; yet computers in heavy industry may have to also protect from dust and dirt but be able to withstand excessive temperatures, knocks and vibrations.
Found in personal computers or laptops, Industrial motherboards are tougher than normal motherboards. Industrial motherboards, like industrial LCD displays or Industrial LCD touch screen need to be able to cope with higher temperatures which need to be tougher in case of a shock or a hit.
Industrial computer systems like Rack mount system and embedded system is one of the suitable options for businesses, home and office aimed at making your work convenient, well thought-out, and creative. They are devised to safeguard fragile computer equipments. These systems possess unique features such as, durability, ease of installation, light weight, reliability and high quality.
Almost all of the communication, computing, display and any other electronic device are occupied by these systems. These systems have become more and more important that we can think of. Industrial computer systems span across all aspects of modern life whether it be education, entertainment, communication or science. These systems are dedicated to specific tasks, so embedded design engineers need to optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product, and increasing the reliability and performance.
Industrial computers are specifically designed so that they can reliably operate in harsh usage environments and conditions. They are easily workable in conditions like strong vibrations, extreme temperatures, wet or dusty conditions. They are designed from inception for the type of rough use typified by these conditions; commercial units upgraded for this purpose make poor substitutes. Industrial computers are laced with redundant mirror hard drive and long life power supplies too with unmatched reliability features.
